Where do we go from here?

Published by dlister at 9:12 pm under Life on the D-List

So it’s been a little while BlogHer, and the outpouring of comments and comradery between us lowly bloggers has been quite overwhelming. We have over 30 D – listers and I’m sure if I wasn’t so lazy as to let like 10 days go by without posting (that’s like 4 years in blog life), we may have 30 more.

But what do I do with y’all?

We created this silly blog as a funny antedote to all the BlogHer hype. But now that the hype and the conference is over, I’m wondering what we do with our little, but funny and festive community. I mean, it is only like 350 days until the next BlogHer.

Seriously, though do we keep this little thing going? I’m already thinking for next year’s BlogHer, we are totally going to have a potluck/ swap meet/ BYOB party. ‘Cause that sounds fun and I’ll be able to drink.

But for now, I’ll have to contemplate next steps. Because I know that there’s still life on the D-List to be had. Ideas are welcome, of course.

Perhaps some of our 30+ D-List Sisters would like to pen a guest post…?

I’m with Alma. Posting about not being in the blogging limelight can seem like sour grapes on our own sites, but this seems like the right place for it. Maybe people have personal experiences to share? Unpopular opinions about well-known bloggers? I know that I have no clue why some bloggers get lots of hits. I also still hate reading blogs that link to things all the time.

But this isn’t a post, lol, it’s just a comment.

    :)

Well, first, you let me join. :)

And the party, well, that sounds cool. If, I, uh, go to BlogHer next year, that is…

I also agree with Alma… guest posters? A board of guest posters?

This MIGHT be a place I can talk about things a little more freely… knowing that the president of my current place of employment isn’t reading my thoughts on how I feel mommytracked.

Just found your site – and I am TOTALLY a d-list blogger. And I love the concept. I think this site should keep going…

I believe the next post should be a list: What it means to be a D-Lister

    let me get you started.
    - your mom is your most avid reader
    - your husband maybe, occasionally reads your blog, but somehow only when you say something unflattering about him
    - the “free” things that marketers offer you to review on your site are things you wouldn’t buy if someone paid you too (seriously, someone tried to get me to hype a MATTRESS – who buys a mettress on the ‘net?
    - the week after BogHer when several of the blogs you read talk about Chicago (or where ever) simultaneously you think, “Who would want ot go to Chicago this time of year?”

I dunno… if my mom was my main reader, I’d have quit long ago. Many of my posts contain jabs at her and her awfulness as a human being.

And I totally bought a mattress online once. But it was because we knew exactly what we wanted and figured we’d check overstock.com to see if they had it… they did, and way cheaper than the store we’d seen it in, and with $2.95 shipping. :P
