Welcome to the D-List

Published by dlister under Life on the D-List

I’m so D-list it took me a month to upload some new links to the site. And I’m so D-List the only post I can drum up in 6 weeks is a post about the new links.

So, welcome new members. You didn’t know what you were getting yourself into, did ya?

Where do we go from here?

Published by dlister under Life on the D-List

So it’s been a little while BlogHer, and the outpouring of comments and comradery between us lowly bloggers has been quite overwhelming. We have over 30 D – listers and I’m sure if I wasn’t so lazy as to let like 10 days go by without posting (that’s like 4 years in blog life), we may have 30 more.

But what do I do with y’all?

We created this silly blog as a funny antedote to all the BlogHer hype. But now that the hype and the conference is over, I’m wondering what we do with our little, but funny and festive community. I mean, it is only like 350 days until the next BlogHer.

Seriously, though do we keep this little thing going? I’m already thinking for next year’s BlogHer, we are totally going to have a potluck/ swap meet/ BYOB party. ‘Cause that sounds fun and I’ll be able to drink.

But for now, I’ll have to contemplate next steps. Because I know that there’s still life on the D-List to be had. Ideas are welcome, of course.

You know you’re a D-list Mom Blogger if…

Published by dlister2 under BlogHer,Life on the D-List

1. You still get a tingle of excitement every time someone leaves a comment. Only to have that feeling evaporate disappear when you realize that comment is from Mom.

2. Instead of being invited to snazzy corporate blogger retreats, you’re entreated to sample fruit snacks, dial into a conference call with a sleep expert or preview a basic cable tv show online.

3. You are fairly confident no one at BlogHer is going to recognize you by your Twitter or Blogger profile pic.

4. You dread the “how much money do you make from your blog?” question from non-bloggers. I’m doing this for love, people! But if you want to buy something from Amazon anyway, maybe you could click over from my site…

5. You realize that controversy drives page views, but you’re too busy being a WOHM/SAHM/WAHM to stir to proverbial pot.

Life on the D-List

Published by dlister under Life on the D-List

If you’ve ever posted on twitter but no one’s responded, or your feed subscription levels dip below 100, then this is the place for you. Our trips to BlogHer are not sponsored, and our blog advertising revenue is light to say the least. We are the D-List of mommy bloggers and we like it that way. We’ll never be famous bloggers, but we don’t care. That way we won’t piss off our non-sponsors.

But, we do love to blog, even if our only readers our are mothers, mothers-in-law and the spying neighbor down the street. We’ll still go to BlogHer and gawk at the popular bloggers thinking one day they’ll actually come visit us. But if they don’t, it’s ok. We all have each other at the bottom.

That’s life on the D-List.

Will you be at BlogHer? Join our ranks and get your very own D-List button to wear at the event. Want to be on our Blogroll?

Email selfmademom(at)sbcglobal(dot)net.  Hey, it’s a D-List, anyone can make it.
